Fairy Furniture

Items needed:

*twigs, vines, dried flowers
*needle and thread
*scrap material
*scissors
*hot glue gun
*pruners to cut the twigs

1) Decide what you're going to make. We'll make a chair,
to give you an example.

2) Cut the twigs in this manner - one long, bendable piece that will form the back legs and back of the chair, and four equal lengthed twigs which will form the two front legs and the seat. The chair should stand no more than four inches tall (including the back)

3)Bend the long twig, and hot glue one of the smaller pieces in between the two ends where you want the seat to be.This will be the back of the seat.

4)Hot glue on each side of the bent twig facing towards you a smaller twig; these will be the sides of the seat.

5)Glue the front piece of the seat to these side twigs.

6)Glue the two front legs to the seat so that the chair legs are even.

7)If you wish, wrap the vines around the chair back and legs.

8)Cut the scrap material to form a "back" and a "seat" - these are NOT to be as wide as the chair, but will fit inside of the twigs.

9)Using your needle and thread, attach the material to the chair using a whip stitch.

10)Hot glue small dried flowers at the top of the chair.

This technique can be used to make all kinds of fairy furniture, from tables to beds, to sofas - all of which are sure to delight your fairies! You can make little tea cups too from dried flower cups!

Fairy Hut

Items needed:

*imagination
*bird house
*cloth
*glue
*markers
*string
*cardboard paper
*miniture basket or acorn cap
*miniture bells
*cake sprinkles, barley, or glitter

1) With you imagination, you will turn your birdhouse
house into a fairy house.

2) Take the cloth and turn them into little curtains for the fairy house. Then glue them onto the fairy house.

3) Take the miniture bells and attach them to the fairy house so you will know when fairies are occupying their new home.

4) Take the small miniture backet or acorn cap and fill it with cake sprinkles, glitter or barley. Then place it somewhere close by to the fairy house. This is used as a sort of bait to attract the fairies.

5) Now take the cardboard paper (remember..you can use any material to create the sign..this is just an
example) and the markers and write on the paper
"No Birds! Fairies Only!" Then take the string and use
it on the sign to put on the fairy house!

6) Now take the fairy house and put it in a special place, like the garden. Be sure, though, that there are no cat's around, because cat's are very jealous of fairies.

TeaLight Candle Holder

Items Needed:

*1 tin can from soup, veggies, etc.
*nail
*hammer
*tealight candle
*paint/paintbrush (optional)

1) Have the empty tin can with the wraper removed, and then wash it.

2) Take the hammer and the nail and "poke" little designs into the tincan. To make it easier, though, you may want to put water in it and freeze it before "poking" the designs in. Or another idea is put sand in it! Whichever way works better for you.

3) Now put in a tealight and watch the lights dance around the room.

For something a little extra, you can use the paint and paint the cans for more of a decoration! Another idea is you could use bigger cans (coffee sized cans) and take a wire hanger to make a stake and hanger to light up your path outdoors. Using votive candles for the bigger cans is a good idea!

*5 T powdered sugar (or cornstarch)
*5 T citric acid
*5 droppers full of fragrance or essential oil

Fizzing Bath Balls

*1/4 C baking soda
*2 T citric acid
*1 T borax
*2 T powdered sugar
*2 T almond oil
*1 T vitamin E oil
*1/4 T fragrance

Combine dry ingredients in bowl and stir til blended. Drizzle in oil and stir until moist. Add Vit E and stir 'til mixed. Take teaspoon sized mixture & form balls. Will be crumbly. Place on waxed paper and leave 2 -3 hours. Let air dry 10 days and then store in air tight container. Make sure they are drying in a humidity free environment. When the author of this recipe took the balls out of her ice cube tray, they expanded a bit from the humidity in the air. If you have a dehydrator, that would be a good place for drying.

There is no end to the shapes you can make with these and they look beautiful in a pretty jar with raffia or ribbon at the top. Just use your imagination!

Fairy Wings

Items Needed

*9-gauge aluminum wire
*pliers
*duct-tape
*queen-size panty hose
*pipe cleaner
*ribbon

1) Begin by creating the wire wings. Start with a coiled roll of 9-gauge aluminum wire (available at hardware stores). Cut a 13-foot length and bend it in half. Twist a small loop at the bend (use pliers, if necessary).

2) About 8 inches up from the loop, form a large wing shape with 52 inches of wire. Repeat on the other side. Close the wings with a twist as shown. (Note: the wing can be bent into different shapes).

3) Form a triangle, about 5 by 8 by 8 inches, above the loop from step 1. Twist and trim the ends so they do not protrude from the triangle; duct-tape them, if necessary.

4) Cut the legs off a pair of queen-size panty hose. Stretch one leg over one wing, secure with a pipe cleaner, and stretch the excess over the triangle. Repeat on the other side.

5) Tie the middle of a 7-foot piece of ribbon to the bottom of the triangle. Thread the ribbon around the triangle so the wings can be worn like a backpack.

Who doesnt believe in fairies? With this costume, a beautiful fairy will magically appear on your doorstep.
